Soundwave Croatia is only a few weeks away and we’re getting ready to get painty.. We recently took the Best Joined Up experience to the CLA / Bussey Building in Peckham, for an evening of Music and Live Art. I was really pleased to join forces with Point273 and Candy Lo for a bit of a doodle..
New Year, New Site, New Prints
Time to kick the year off with a fresh start.. Last year I moved to London to begin a new job, but slowed down on my available time for creativity. So now I’m settled here, I’ve vowed to make a change this year and get back into creating and exhibiting a series of new works. Coming up in March, is the next chapter of Femme Fierce, with the 2015 event looking even bigger and better than last year. In the meantime, I have recently released three new digital prints on my store, which are now available to purchase… Fingers crossed 2015 will be busy and painty xx
Designer Maker – Old Spitalfield Market 15th March
I’ll be heading over to my first stall at the Designer Maker Market this weekend, at Old Spitalfields, with a selection of jewellery, hand printed clothing, canvases and paper prints. All clothing and prints are limited to editions of 10 or less and all clothing printed with a selection of my illustrations. Don’t fret, there will be no owls, or crafty “calm down” statements on this stall.. Items will be available online, for those of you who can’t make it down in person.. If you’re nearby though, call in for a natter xx
C21 Project – Cardiff University
Last week saw my first commission ‘unveiling’ at Cardiff University Hospital Wales, for the launch of their C21 Project. The piece is to commemorate the new curriculum for medical students in Cardiff and a new building which provides high tech research facilities to its students. I was very pleased to attend the event, which was opened by Professor John Bligh, Dean of Medicine..
Big thanks to Cardiff M.A.D.E Gallery for their support.

Music Maker: Exhibition August 2013
Music Maker: Inspirations and Creations 3 Day Exhibition = 9th-11th August 2013 Hosted by Pyklops at Printhaus Workshops (Cardiff)
Over the early part of 2013 I had been working on a series of digital prints using a process which mixed up two of my favourite pass times, listening to music and geeking out over software. The process started for a variety of reasons, because mostly as my daily creative time was spent on a Greyhound bus travelling to and from my day job, as an IT geek.
All prints were made from inspirations of tunes I’d been listening to on my journeys and with tools I could carry around with me: A small sketchbook, pencils, my phone and my favoured apps. Each started with a hand drawn piece, which is then scanned, transferred to iPhone, updated in an app to add vectors to the base image, then converted to PDF, before transferring back to the laptop, to be completed in photoshop, with a mixture of textures taken from my photography.
So once I got into the swing of using this process to create each image, it led me to seek out how other artists were inspired or directed by these two stimulae. To explore this further, I hosted a 3 day show at the Printhaus, to explore methods in which a selection of artists have embraced these two influences / stimulus, to generate a selection of their works.
Making the most of the bank holiday weekend, I was really stoked to be able to join Sri McKinnon running a stall at StreetFest in Shoreditch last month, trundling a range of goodies along to this rapidly growing celebration of Live Art and Street culture.
This weekend for us though, was all about getting the stall set up within the TogetherTheyCome Market, showing folks what we do and meeting some really positive and friendly people along the way.
With a new range of tees to launch and trialing out a fresh range of bags and jewellery, a stack load of stickers and new prints were all on the stall, along with a selection of custom skate decks. Sri brought to the table her full range of hip hop and 80’s inspired handmade jewellery aswell as her illustrated cards. More of Sri’s work can be seen through her facebook page which also has links to her store.
